- Local Lodge 516 was founded on September 28, 1917
- Local 516 is located in Manitowoc, Wisconsin and has members
throughout Manitowoc County and beyond.
- Local 516 is known as the "Clipper City Lodge" referring to
Manitowoc's maritime heritage and the Local's role in it
- Currently there are about 650 working members in the Lodge.
When you add in the retired members the Local has a membership around
1300
- Many retired members are still active in the Local and attend
the monthly meetings regularly
- Lodge 516 is an Amalgamated Local with 10 different shops
- Union Meetings are held the second Thursday of the month at
7:30 PM. Meetings are held at AMVETS Post 99 on Conroe Street in
Manitowoc.
- Before every Union Meeting the Lodge has a Stewards Meeting, except in the summer months of June,
July and August. The meeting starts at 6:30 PM and ALL
members are welcome. The topics of this meeting are directly related
to current local and shop issues and change from month to month.
